James Walsh, Professor of Political Science, received the 2020 First Citizens Bank Scholars Medal, UNC Charlotte’s most prestigious faculty award for research.
Walsh's research focuses on armed conflict and civil wars and international security cooperation and conflict. His work has been published widely, including by Columbia University Press, the Journal of Conflict Resolution and International Studies Quarterly. A recent book, “Drones and Support for the Use of Force,” examines how the use of combat drones affect support for the use of force.
