Planning and Tracking

Faculty and staff share an important role in ensuring our graduate students have access to world class educational resources and the advice and counsel they need as they progress through their degree program.  Key elements in success are planning and tracking.   Much of the planning and tracking for academic progress and graduation clearance processes are automated through DegreeWorks, a web-based tool.  DegreeWorks allows students to see and track their progress. Faculty can access DegreeWorks via my.charlotte.edu under the Teaching heading.   For more information visit the DegreeWorks FAQ and to schedule training, contact degreeworks@uncc.edu.  Download DegreeWorks Audit - the basics for Advisors to learn the basics of the DegreeWorks audit and the Quick Reference Guide for a snapshot of the DegreeWorks process.

Retention rate

Student retention, also referred to as persistence, is a measure of the general level of student satisfaction.  It is the percentage of first-year students who continue to be enrolled for a second academic year.  The higher the retention rate, the more students choose to remain enrolled.

UNC Charlotte's retention rates for all graduate programs are located on the Retention Reports page of the Office of Institutional Research.
