Major Gifts

These significant contributions (generally $25,000 or more, which may be paid over five years) are often used to create endowed funds for the Graduate School. Major gifts create long-term financial stability for the Graduate School and allows the Graduate School to assist students through merit based and need based fellowships.  Naming opportunities are also available for graduate student Merit Fellowships, Need-Based Fellowships, Veteran Fellowships, Research Funding, and other opportunities.  For more information contact Mark Colone.

Planned Giving

Many UNC Charlotte alumni, friends and donors choose to support the University's work through planned gifts, which include gifts of marketable securities; estate gifts through a bequest in a will or trust; charitable gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts that provide a lifetime income stream to the donor; and other gifts of real estate or tax-deferred retirement assets.  Planned gifts provide financial flexibility and various tax benefits. Planned gifts also provide an effective means of financial stewardship, redirecting money to needs that would otherwise become lost to estate, capital gains or income taxes. Because a planned gift requires careful consideration of a donor's personal, financial and charitable goals and desires, we encourage you to consult with your financial, tax or legal adviser.  For more information on planned gifts, please visit the University's Planned Giving web page.

Personal EAnn Belkxperience at UNC Charlotte:

Three of my children graduated from UNC Charlotte and I enjoy attending many of the events at the University. As a donor, I also especially enjoy the relationships I develop with the Everett Fellowship student recipients. It is gratifying to know that my family's fellowship has made it easier for a student to graduate and get on with their life's work.

Why I continue to give to UNC Charlotte:

My father was keen on education and wanted to help a fledgling university when he established the foundation in 1969. UNC Charlotte is one of 4 schools that receive funding through the foundation. I learned that graduate students can have difficulty finishing their studies due to lack of funding, so we decided to allocate the money specifically for Graduate Fellowships.
